Still in Memphis

Well, I was bumped off of my flight to Boston. NO big surprise, there was/is a huge group that has to get out of here before I/we do. I found out right as I was leaving to get some lunch, so I was able to have a nice relaxing lunch. Afterwards, I bought a new book and went back to my room to read. Why do I even try? I fell asleep and didn’t wake up until almost seven at night.

So, I got dressed again. Checked in with the airline. No luck with them. They don’t know when I’m getting out of here. There’s a little ‘pub’ a block or so from here, so I wandered down and had two beers. The place was packed. I don’t do well in crowds like that so I left and went for another walk. It’s not nearly as cold as it was earlier.

I tried calling Sara earlier, but there was no answer and when I tried later there wasn’t an answer. I know she must be busy with the kiddos. And the kiddos are super-handfuls with only one parent.

I hope I don’t wake up again at four in the morning. I’m sure it’ll be freezing again.

Jet lag. What a bee-otch. And is jetlag/jet lag a compound word or what?

And in my previous post I mentioned falling asleep in the movie Batman. Dad’s joke about Batman really cracked me up. “Hey, Batman, what’s for dinner?” I’m going to have to remember that one.

And as I sign off I wonder if my camera will work in sub-zero temperatures… I’ll try to get some pictures in the morning of the mountains.

And you know what? I only have 179 days left!

But Who’s Counting?

  1. Ask Carrie - she's the expert on compound words, remember?

Sorry about the jet lag (that's how I always write it). I still have leftover holiday lag - I haven't slept later than 1 pm since the New Year :~P

  2. That really bites the big one, Michael. Hope things go better today. Sara and the kids were at our house while the waited for the Honda, which wasn't ready til 3:30! Sara used my van to take Rebecca to the b'day party. And the kids were very good yesterday, too.

  3. I couldn't believe the Honda wasn't ready until 3:30. Why tell me to bring it in at 7:30 if you're not going to detail it until 2:00???
I didn't see that I missed any calls from you either on the cell phone or home phone. Hmmm...It was good talking to you last night though.
