It’s Raining, It’s…

(Was) Pouring cats and dogs this morning. Crazy rain. The kind of rain where everyone runs to get in from the rain, but deep down you know it’s pointless to run because you’re going to be soaking anyway when you get inside. When I woke up, I thought something was weird, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. It was the sound of the rain on the roof. But it wasn’t too bad when I went out to shower and clean up.

At work I was getting ready to start raiding some of the care packages that we’ve received over the past couple of weeks. I didn’t want to walk to get some lunch, and I didn’t think the pizza delivery guy was going to deliver pizzas on his moped. And just as I settled my mind on having a lunch of Chips Ahoy, Chicken-in-a-biscuit, and some Gatorade, Joey came upstairs and said that the rain had stopped. So we all went to eat at Koehle’s (Coe-lees) for lunch. You really can’t go wrong with Koehle’s grilled cheese sandwiches.

Today was a good day at work. Chuck and the director were out for a big chunk of the day and I can contribute the amount of work I can get done with the fact that they were NOT in the office. How can it be that we all get more work done when he’s gone? Maybe that’s a management secret. I need to be gone more in order for my subordinates to get more work done. I wonder if my being involved as much as I am at work actually inhibits productivity…

Chip was supposed to leave for Kissimmee this morning. However, he rolled into the office around eleven. Bad weather and they couldn’t land. So he was stuck with us for little while longer. We got to talk to him about what we will be doing in Kissimmee. The offices aren’t built yet and our accommodations aren’t ready, just as we were told. And we are indeed supposed to start moving down the first week of April. But even if the accommodations aren’t as nice as what we have here, I’m looking forward to working down there with for Chip and Spencer (Chip’s director).

I met Spencer a couple of weeks ago and he’s a lot more personable than our director. I hope it’s not ‘the grass is greener’ syndrome.

And speaking of green, my blanket is green (Elvis) and I’m tired. So, good night.
