The air was really clear today. No clouds and the view of the mountains was incredible. The snow glimmered in the sun, but it was really cold. As the sun was setting the snow on the mountains to the east glowed pale orange with light purple streaks. I was kicking myself for not having my camera with me. Since it was Friday night, we all went out for steaks and baked potatoes and pecan pie. It was pretty good.
I had embarrassing moment today. There was one cup of coffee left and I got it. Then on the way back to my desk I spilled it everywhere. I was so mad.
And I forgot my gloves this morning and my hands were really cold when we were outside. That’s not as funny as Joey coming into work yesterday wearing different shoes on his feet. And then he spilled his milk and his OJ at breakfast. We all had to laugh at his misfortune. He took it really well.
Tomorrow is my “every other Saturday” Saturday. If it’s like the Saturday before last, I won’t get any real work done, seeing as how I have to prepare for the 2.5 hour Video Conference in the afternoon. Maybe it won’t be so bad since our director is away at the conference and our part will be done by the deputy director.
Mike, my suitemate, is working some awful hours. He is standing in for his boss for a few weeks. He gets into work around six in the morning, and I don’t know when he gets off, but he’s asleep when I get back to our suite. I hardly see him (not that is a bad thing). It’s like having a phantom housemate.
That’s about it for my day. There’s not a lot to say. Talk to you all later.

It sounds as though things in Boston are not too bad, food-wise. It also sounds as though you guys had an attack of the "oopsies" today. Gotta be careful there!
ReplyDeleteDad mailed your care package today. Let us know when it arrives so we know how long it takes.
Love ya!
Mmmm.. steaks and pecan pie. Sounds dee-lish. I guess gone are the days of MRE's.
