In the park. Must-av been the forth of Juh-ly. My day wasn’t exactly a day in the park though. From the instant I got in, to when I finally left, it was a madhouse. But it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. It was actually fun and time really flew by. I learned a lot about other sections within the company that I had no idea about. As it turns out, my predecessor was… a little under employed, so this position picked up a couple of extra duties in order to keep her busier. Taking care of this every other Saturday super-meeting was one of them. As much as I dislike this extra duty, it is a learning experience about the entire ‘enterprise’. Big-picture enterprise-company cradle-to-grave kind of stuff. But if I go to the Kissimmee office I certainly wouldn’t miss this duty. I don’t know who’d take over, and I really could not care less.
Two of our vice-presidents are self-proclaimed Mass-holes and they speak with thick Bahston accents. So listening to them at the meeting is funny. And don’t get them stahted on college hahkey.
You all know I live near the airport and our suites are in the take off path. Why, oh why, do people who live here have car alarms? I can hear the alarms go off almost every time a plane take off.
After work I went to get some coffee and tried to read the paper. But I ended up hanging out with some guys who’ve been here for a while. And we were all sitting around shooting the breeze and talking about where we’re from, and one guy is from Nashville, TN and was in a movie called “The Blue Collar Comedy Tour – The Movie”. He’s the ‘stink bait dude’ from the Bass Pro Shop part of the movie. He wasn’t bragging about it, someone else in the group noticed him. So I’m going to have to find the movie to actually see him. He has a speaking role in the movie and he told a couple of stories about the comedians in the movie and what nice people they were.
I called Sara and the kids. They were on the way to see a movie, and either it was the mall or the phones, but we got cut off and I couldn’t get though again. I’ll try again tomorrow.
Hey! It’s tomorrow already. SO I can cross off February 7th off of my calendar! That’s one less day here!

Speaking of car alarms, do you remember the guy who used to live across the street from us on Elm Terrace? The one who had the car that "talked" to him? "Help me, Matt! I've been tampered with!" And how the cars in the Legislative Mall area would always go off whenever there were fire works?
ReplyDeleteWhen might you hear about the Kissimee office?
I've never heard of a Mass-hole before. It certainly doesn't sound like you're under-employed. I miss being under-employed.
ReplyDeleteI do remember the car! Though I thought it was "Dave". I should hear about Kissimmee by the end of the month.
ReplyDeleteThat car alarm was awesome. I'm surprised, looking back, that we didn't set the thing off on purpose. I wonder if that was the same guy who Katrina and I liked to scare late at night.
ReplyDeleteIf you go to Kissimmee, will you be in the city proper?
Mike - it was "Dave". And yes, Carrie, that's the dude we freaked out late at night. Poor guy!
