The weather isn’t really getting warmer now during the days. However, in the mornings when I walk to the gym it’s not nearly as cold as it was a few weeks ago. There is still no heat in the gym; and for my first fifteen minutes or so, I would be freezing. But now, I’m comfortable walking to the gym in shorts and a t-shirt.
My new boss is a machine. I’ve seen him in the gym almost every morning that I’m there. He gets there before Mike and I do, and I know he’s at the office until eleven or twelve at night. I found out tonight that he’s a second degree black belt in some form of martial arts. And when he lived in Japan, he was an amateur body builder and actually competed and won in at least one competition.
Tomorrow morning there is a 10K race! I’m going to sleep in. Nope, I didn’t sign up and I’m not going to run. Some other time - maybe.
Work was incredibly busy again. Mike and I were really going to town trying to get our tasks knocked out. A lot of what we do is all on line, so I’d do part of what I would have to do, post it to the internet, them Mike opens it and does his thing, he’ll send it back to me, and I’ll do my thing, send it back, and Mike will finish it up.
We’ve found out that it’s easier that when we work on these projects - instead of sending our stuff back and forth, we’ll just do our thing, trade desks, work at each other’s desk, trade desks again, keep working, trade desks again… It helps keep things interesting, and it messes with people’s heads when they come in and we’re changing desks every 45 minutes or an hour.
When I was typing last night I kept falling asleep at the computer. I was afraid that I would fall asleep with my computer in my lap and the computer would fall on the floor. Tonight when I opened up my word document there were five blank pages when I fell asleep with my fingers on either the space bar or the enter key ( I just typed “the return key”. Does anything have a “return” key anymore?)
I can’t remember if I mentioned it before, but I’m at fifty one percent for this trip! Woo hoo!!! That means I’m cnow closer to the end of this tour than I am to the beginning! It’s downhill now! I’m pretty thrilled about that. I wouldn’t go as far as to say that I can see the end, but I feel pretty close.
Good night, everyone!
