Slowing down

I’ve had to slow down over the past two days. Yesterday afternoon I was working out with Keith and Mike and while we were lifting and I thought I pulled something in my chest. It was the same feeling I had a few days ago. So I took it easy for a bit and I stretched a little more. We moved on to the next machine and I seriously tweaked something in my pec. I had to cut my session short and headed back to my room.

I took a hot shower and I tried to rest, but it was killing me. Luckily, I had a bunch of Motrin left over from two weeks ago. I’m going to have to take it easy for a couple of days.

And for the past few weeks I’ve been telling myself that on July first I’m going to have to start running again. I can do an hour-plus on an elliptical machine, but if you want to get better at running, you have to run. But taking deep breaths with a pulled muscle in my chest is a real pain. Literally. So when I woke up this morning my chest still hurt, but not as bad as last night. I got dressed for walking and headed outside. I walked about a half mile and I felt pretty good. So I jogged for a mile and a half and then walked another half mile. My chest didn’t bother me too much.

It has definitely been getting warmer over the past week. It has been in the mid to high eighties during the day and warm and windy at night. I walked about a mile and a half tonight to keep from tightening up and it was really windy.

Sean is back from his five night trip to Boston. He had a nice break from here even thought it was a business trip. There’s a chance that he has to go back and work there for good in two weeks. Then I’ll have the apartment to myself. Even if it’s for ten days or so, it’ll be nice to have my own place.

And I’m so excited that it’s July. I can say that I leave “This Month”.

  1. Yikes! Take it easy is right! You don't want to mess yourself up just before you get to leave for home!
