Milestones

Two milestones passed today. We had a going away ceremony for Tony and Gil. We presented them with their going-away gifts and had some cake (I even set one piece aside for Milton) and Tom said a few nice words. That makes me the #3 person to leave next month. NEXT MONTH!!! I can say “next month” now! That excites me.

At dinner today I had a bottle of water and I had brought with me one of those little tubes of powdered drink mix to put in my water. But wouldn’t you know it, the little tube ripped a little too well and my whole dinner had lemonade powder sprinkled all over it. Dammit to you-know-what. I didn’t want lemonade flavored steak and baked potatoes.

Mike was brought back into our section today. We don’t know what Spence said or did to get him back, but it worked. I was talking to Spence about something in his office and Mike was walking by. Spence said, “Hey, Mike!” Then he pointed to Mike, His Desk, and Next Door to Our Office. That was all that needed to be said. So when we tried to thank him, he wouldn’t take any of it. Actually, what he said was something like, “You better #*@(ing get back to work now.” We’re all glad that Mike’s back with us and not doing nug-work for someone else.

We had a little rain this afternoon. When we left the office to go eat everything was wet and temperature had dropped. It felt really good. Almost chilly had I not been wearing long sleeves. But we need more rain. I’ll check the forecast… Okay. I’m back. It looks like there’s a chance of rain tomorrow. But I don’t know what the temperature is because evidently my computer likes to go back and forth between Fahrenheit and Centigrade for no apparent reason. And it is showing everything in Centigrade now. I’m sure there’s a button on there somewhere to go back and forth, I just don’t know where it is.

I forgot to wear my pedometer today. Darn it. Well, it’s not like I would have racked up a lot of points. I kind of took it easy today since I’m coming off of whatever it was I had yesterday. I’m going back to the gym tomorrow morning. But for tonight, I’ve had enough. Good night.
