Quiet

It is so nice in the office with Chuck and the director gone. There is plenty of talking and good natured teasing going on, but things have lightened up a bit with the director out of our business. Chuck, on the other hand, hasn’t worked a day since I got here. I’m not sure what his purpose in life was besides surfing the internet and watching videos. Chuck also had a tendency to get Joey all riled up about something and causing disturbances. Today at dinner people sat around and told their horror stories about the director. I guess he was a real pain a few months ago. As much as he got on my nerves, apparently he used to be worse.

The weather today was a little bit cooler. We have lots of clouds and the sky looks ominous. I’ve been waiting for rain all day; but so far it has only been overcast. Maybe we’ll get rain tonight or tomorrow.

This morning I was getting ready when the maintenance man came by our suite to service our air conditioner. The compressor is outside, but the main unit is mounted on the wall with the filter and the blower. They took the filters out and cleaned them off. Afterwards, they taped a very large plastic bag under the unit and sprayed water in the blower and the guts of the unit. The water that came out was so nasty – dark gray and totally disgusting. I imagine that all of the units in each of the suites are just as disgusting. And if that was what we have been breathing for the past few months, then it’s no wonder that everyone here has the hack.

No one at work can remember when the AC units at work have been cleaned like that. I hope that when I get to Kissimmee either we’ll start feeling better.

Today was Italian day at OJays. The lasagna was fantastic. But I ate too much and now I wished I had a smaller portion. I’m going to find my Tums and go to bed.
