Our normal group of people who get together once a week to work out decided that Thursday was going to be the day to go do something. We ran a couple of miles and finished it off with a not too terribly hard series of calisthenics. It’s usually fun to do stuff like that in a group and when someone else leads it, it can be fun when you don’t know what they have planned.
Afterwards, our usual trio (me, Mike, and Keith) hit the gym to follow our schedule of exercises. I was starving for breakfast, and today I got some French toast sticks, watermelon cubes, and some cereal. I was going to get some turkey bacon but for some reason I didn’t. And I’m glad I didn’t because someone else got the bacon and it looked all slimy. Gross.
I got to work a little before nine and found that I had a list of tasks waiting for me. That suited me just fine. After the day I had yesterday, all I wanted to do was bury myself in my work and make the day go by. As I was plowing though my tasks, I noted that I had a new project to build and prepare for presentation and staffing. I figured that this particular project would be enough work to last me two or three days. However… It was almost identical to my very last project that I worked on when I was in Boston. Now I figure it’ll take me about one day. Whoop-de-do. Something else will come along.
I had a talk with one of the people that I was really mad at yesterday. I explained where I was coming from and gave them a chance to explain their side of the story. I still wasn’t pleased with the total outcome, but I have a real good feeling that it won’t happen again.
There’s something wrong with our mail here. I bought some fans from Amazon a while ago, and Sara mailed them to me about three weeks ago. I don’t know why, but the fans haven’t gotten here yet and it’s starting to worry me. I really want one of the fans for my room because when the AC unit is on, the unit leaks a little bit. The unit is near my bed and I keep a towel where the water forms so I don’t have a puddle. Well, I fell asleep reading Freakonomics… and wouldn’t you know it. The book fell off the edge of my bed and landed in the puddle. The pages got all warped, but it dried nicely. But that’s not the point! I guess I need to go see the leasing office and let them know that someone needs to look at the AC unit.
I’m hungry. I wish I had a snack. But I’m glad that I don’t, because I probably wouldn’t eat just a few.
