The temperature outside is supposed to be fifty five degrees, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was 60. It is such a beautiful day. I can’t believe how nice it is. It reminded me of the “March goes in like a lamb and out like a lion” unless it’s the other way around. This is the second day in a row that we’ve had this weather, and we’re supposed to have a few more days like this. It wouldn’t break my heart at all… well, we still need some rain.
I found out a few days ago that my boss back home is going to come to Boston about the same time I leave. I thought he was going to transfer, but I saw his name on a list so I wrote to him asking if he was coming to visit me. As it turns out, he’s coming the same time my replacement is. So maybe I’ll be able to see him for a day or two before I take off out of here.
Speaking of out of here. It looks like our timetable to Kissimmee might be bumped up. Chris isn’t going to the conference with Heather; but Joey is. Joey’s job is to make sure that accommodations and workspace is available. It looks like we’re all supposed to be down in Kissimmee by April 5th. Yeah, we’ll see how well that works out.
I was stopped in the hallway yesterday or the day before by some guy that I had never seen before. Well, I guess I had seen him before, because he recognized me from some place I was thirteen years ago. He even remembered where I lived and my roommate’s name (Greg). Now, I’m not the kind of guy to say, “Yeah, yeah, I remember you! How ya doin’?” I had to admit that I had no recollection of him, and he understood. Even after having a few hours to think about it, I still don’t remember the guy. But he knew my name, what I did, where I lived, and he remembered Greg… It was kind of weird and cool at the same time.
Tonight the auditors had their Thursday night bonfire. I didn’t go last week, even the weather was alright, and the two Thursday’s before that we had snow storms. Last Thursday was Mike’s (my suite mate) going away party at the bonfire. I feel kind of bad for not going and him having to leave all of a sudden. Whatever the drama was with him, I hope it’s all better.
Speaking of better, I hope my calves feel better. I’m not too sore from working out (I went again today), but my calves are tight. Good think that I have to walk everywhere. Yeah, right! Talk to you all later.

Did the guy who knew you way back when give you any clue that might have helped ring a bell? Where he worked, maybe, or HIS room mate or co-workers you might have known?
ReplyDeleteHe just said that he never forgets a face. He saw me a week or so ago and thought that he knew me, and it took a while for him to remember from when.
ReplyDeleteThat is really weird. That he knew it with such clarity and you had no idea.
ReplyDeleteI did the "If March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb" with my class yesterday. Only 2 out of 90 had ever heard of it! I was floored! We're working on similes and I thought it would be a good example. One of those things that fell flat. Oh well. They liked "Yo momma" jokes and hyperboles. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteSara - funny you should mention that. I said the "March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb" to Aaron on Sunday (when it snowed) and he had NEVER heard of it either. And he's older than us. He does, however, know plenty of "yo momma"s.
