It's raining again...

Wow. It was raining really, really hard. Last night we could hear the rain on the roof and this morning it was still coming down hard. I was thinking that it was going to turn this place into a giant mud puddle.

However, today at lunch I saw a couple of dump trucks dropping off loads of gravel at strategic places around here. I think that in a day or two most of the puddles will be filled in.

We had our weekly VTC with Malaysia tonight. What a drag. I totally was prepared to stab myself n the eye with a pencil. It was movie night again tonight work. Not sure why, it wasn't Saturday or anything. We watched Must Love Dogs which is a romantic comedy. Pretty funny though. And it made me really miss Sara. I wish I was home.

At least there was a movie while we were waiting for the VTC to start…
I'm anxiously awaiting word from our corporate HQ to find out where Sara and I are going to go next. There aren't as many options as there were last time we moved. And speaking of moving, I’ve been having fun looking at houses on line and seeing which ones I’d like to buy and move into. Now if we only knew where…

All the news about the state of the US economy is freaking me out. How many people in the US have been laid off in the past year? A couple million? What the heck is going on? At least I have some job security with this company, but how long is it going to take the country to straighten up. I’ll shut up now before I type something I’ll regret later. I have to think of the New York Times rule.

But in the ‘good news’ department, I looked at my tracker today and I have officially passed the 25% mark. I’m a quarter of the way home. And USAA dorked up one of my financial transactions and popped me with a fee. One phone call and two people later… the fee was returned. Hooray for USAA!

  1. I agree - I love USAA. What is the New York Times rule? Have you seen any good houses? Where have you been looking at?

  2. Michael - The U.S. economy is freaking a lot of people out, including your dad and me. Too many people are losing their jobs. Unfortunately, President Obama can't undo overnight the 8 years of sh*t that Dubya left for him to clean up--it's going to take a while. As the song goes, waiting is the hardest part.

  4. I find that the head-in-sand approach only works for so long with the economy. We can only have faith that our new administration will try to do the right thing.

I heart USAA too. I just opened a checking account, savings account, and credit card account through them this morning. We're not using our credit cards anymore now that we paid them off, but if I have to, then I sure as heck don't want to use BofA anymore. Screw them.
