It hasn’t rained here is a while. It seems like a while, but it’s maybe been three weeks. It’s starting to get dusty and the cars around here are stirring up the dust when they drive. I’d like a day of rain to get the dust and the pollen and the smog out of the air. I was thinking about the rain all day and this evening as I was walking to the gym it actually rained for about sixty seconds. Not a lot. Just enough to make a polka-dot pattern on the sidewalks.
I got a nice package in the mail today. It seems that Rebecca and her Grandad made chocolate chip cookies a week or so ago and put some in the mail. The box was a little bit smashed when I got it, but the plastic bags did a good job with protecting them. And the box arrived just in time also. I’ve done pretty good over the past two months with watching what I eat, eating somewhat healthy, and avoiding deserts. And I was going to reward myself with something Saturday with something. I guess it’s going to be chocolate chip cookies! I’ll have to remember to take a picture of me eating one so I can mail it to Rebecca.
Work was… well, work. Actually, it was kind of calm. There wasn’t a whole lot of excitement, which was a good thing. I think a lot of the bosses were in meetings and that kept them out of our hair and allowed us to do our work. When the meetings slow down we can expect to be dumped on again. I actually spent a few hours this afternoon getting ready for a meeting that I have to go to tomorrow that is in a different complex. I have to catch the seven fifteen bus for a fifteen minute ride, go to a one to two hour meeting, then wait for the twelve fifteen bus to bring me back here. At least it gets me out of the office for a little while.
We’re rather lucky that it hasn’t gotten too hot here. I’ve heard a few times that it is not nearly as hot now as it was this time last year. Maybe it also has something to do with our elevation. I think someone told me that we were at 6,100 ft. Oh, it was my roommate, Sean, who has a rather fancy watch that tells the elevation. I’ve got a buddy that’s over at Kileen, and it’s quite a bit warmer there. And I figure he can have it.
It’s getting late and I have to get up early. Good night.

It's all pollen here - our cars are covered in it, and I've been sneezing like crazy. But at least it's not whatever-it-is I'm allergic to that makes my eyes itch insanely!
ReplyDeleteKatrina - Carrie recommended some stuff called "AllergenBlock" which works like a charm! It's made by Chloraseptic, and it's a bit on the pricey side, but it's definitely worth it!
